Through the lens of my own experience, text and image interact to create a commentary on modern eating disorders—specifically anorexia. Photographing everyday food items in local grocery stores with the addition of my own stamp, I’m creating a physical intervention or manifestation of the disease. The opposing sides of our society, where looking a certain way deems you beautiful, and the other being easily accessible food, are at a visual power struggle. Having the ideal constantly in the back of one’s mind and the reality in one’s face, emanate that.
